KELLEY FX® EDGE-OF-DOCK DOCK LEVELER

Summary of Features

Simple, ergonomic push-button operation.
Broad working range. Five inches above and below dock. Transition plate may be added to accommodate docks without edge channel.
Self-cleaning lug-type lip hinge.
High volume, low pressure air bag lifting mechanism. Requires no scheduled maintenance.
Lifting bag operates under temperature extremes of -65 to + 180 F.
Lifting bag with PVC coated polyester fibers retains lifting effectiveness even when punctured; can be easily repaired.

FX edge-of-dock dockleveler to be _ 20,000 lb. or _ 30,000 lb. capacity with _ 66" or _ 72" wide ramp. Complies with standard ANSI MH14.1- 1987. Workable span to be 29" with 11 1/2" minimum lip projection beyond bumpers. Working range to be 5" above to 5" below dock level with 15" lip. Grease fittings to be provided on rear hinge tubes. To be air operated. Self-contained unit to mount to dock face without concrete pit forming. Unit to include two laminated rubber bumpers 10"x10"x4 1/2" and heavy-duty bumper blocks. Bumper face to project 17 1/2" from dock face. Surfaces to have 4-way raised lug tread plate. To be Kelley model _ FX EOD66, or _ FX EOD72 edge-of-dock as manufactured by Kelley Company, Inc.

Operation

Dockleveler rises when NEMA 4 shielded push-button is pushed and held.
Lip automatically extends as deck section descends into trailer bed.
After loading or unloading is complete dock attendant pushes button to activate air system and raise FX EOD. Lip falls pendant, dock attendant releases button, and FX EOD is stored.
In stored position FX EOD is fully supported by dock level support.

Construction

Ramp and lip constructed of durable 50,000 psi tensile yield four way safety tread plate.
1/4" ramp with beam reinforcement.
3/8" (20,000 cap.) or 1/2" (30,000 cap.) lip plate.
Self-cleaning lug-style lip hinge.
Plated full width front and rear hinge pins.
Grease fittings on rear hinge tubes.
Air bag and fan motor attached to pan sub-assembly.
Heavy duty steel bumper blocks with laminated rubber bumpers.

Working (Service) Range

10 inches; 5" above and 5" below dock level.

Optional Features

Optional 17" lip recommended for use when servicing refrigerated vans or other vehicles with step sections at rear.

* Kwik-Plate is available in two plate profiles, high and low. The higher profile is more versatile because it permits serving trailers 6" above to 4" below the dock. Materials handling equipment with low underclearances may require the flatter, low profile plate which has a restricted working range of 4" above dock to 1 1/2" below the dock. Kwik-Plate extends 12" beyond the bumpers.

**The low profile Grocery Style plate extends 14" beyond the bumpers to assist with refrigerated trucks.

Operation

Assisted by a counterweight, dock worker manually lifts ramp into a horizontal position.
Dockleveler settles onto dock and truck bed.
When truck pulls away from dock, ramp automatically returns to stored position.

Ramp constructed of durable 50,000 PSI yield tread plate.
Four-way tread plate.
Self-contained counterbalance provides lifting support for ramp.
